Hello everyone!!

July is almost here and that means, for some of us a brand spankin’ new Happy Planner that starts in July. For those of us who haven’t decorated the first month in the new planners or those who have last years planner still and are looking for something to decorate the month of July, I have something for you.

I don’t know about you, but when I first got my Happy Planner I only decorated the weeks and nothing with the monthly layout. I simply didn’t know how to go about it and thought that I couldn’t come up with anything creative for it. So I just left them blank, except for the scribblings of things I had going on that month.

But then I kept seeing people post pictures of their monthly layouts and I got inspired. I made up one for the month of my birthday, because you know you have to do that! And then I made up ones for June and July, for my etsy shop, which you can check out here.

I’ve only done the monthly layouts a couple of times but I love it. And that’s what I have for you today!

2 Free Printable July Monthly Layouts for Happy Planner

Check out this awesome red, white, & blue monthly layout of free printable stickers for July!

I made this layout just like the last one I shared with you all. You can create your own monthly layout, instead of being restricted to the stuff I put in a pdf.

As you can see in the picture, it has some date cover ups; including one for the Fourth of July;  day of the week washi, and bigger washi strips for the top of the page, as well as some icons (obviously, I didn’t put all the date cover ups and the icons on).

I also have a monthly layout for July for those who either don’t live in the U.S. or don’t care for a patriotic themed monthly layout. And you can see that here →

I love this one!  Actually I love both, they’re so pretty and fun!

Go ahead and grab the patriotic layout and/or the non-patriotic one and start decorating! (Click on the image below to take you to the printables!)

Planner Squad Swap – Sign Up for June 2016!

Do you like to get planner related goodies in your mail box? If so, the Planner Squad Swap is for you! Each month our Squadettes like to participate in a monthly swap that brings the happiness of planner related goodies straight to your mailbox! Want to know how you can participate in the next swap? Keep reading for more information!

Planner Squad Swap June Sign Up

How does the Planner Squad Swap work?

Basically, you fill out the form at the bottom of this page to send an email to our Swap leader (the infamous Sarita!) and she will pair you with your swap buddy. Then you and your swap buddy will each shop for and/or create planner related goodies to be packaged up and shipped to your partner! Swap partners are paired together – so whoever you are sending to, will be sending something to you in return.

Who can participate in the swaps?

Our swaps are only open to our awesome Squadettes (US ONLY!!). Want to be a Squadette too? Come join us in our awesome facebook group! [Yes – we will check if you are a member or not! If you’re not, then your email will go to the virtual trash can and you will not be allowed to participate. So make sure you join our fb group!]

What is the monthly limit we should spend on our swap partner?

The limit is $15 max. That may or may not including shipping, that is up to you. You are more than welcome to spend more on your swap partner if you would like, however that does not guarantee you will get the same amount in return. You must spend a MINIMUM of $15 on your swap partner (again, that can include shipping if you would like).

When is the deadline to sign up?

The swap signup deadline for the June 2016 swap is May 31st.

Okay, I signed up! When will I be assigned a swap partner?

Emails are generally sent out with your swap partners information around the 1st of every month. Check the facebook group for updates from Sarita. If you did not get an email, check your spam folder. If you still can’t find your email, contact Sarita to let her know.

Is there a shipping deadline?

Yes. All swap packages MUST be shipped by June 15th. That gives everyone about two weeks to shop for their partner and put together a package, which is plenty of time. If for some reason you cannot get to the post office in time to ship your partners package, you MUST let Sarita and your swap partner know.

Other things you should know as a Swap Participant

As soon as you get your swap partner, reach out to them either through email or fb contact! Communication is key! If you have not heard from your partner within a few days let us know. Anyone who does not keep in contact will be removed from the swap!

If you flake out on your partner and do not send a swap gift – you will be forever banned from the Planner Squad facebook group and no longer be allowed to participate in future swaps. Also, since partners are paired in groups of two – your swapper will know who their flaky swap partner was, which could ultimately end up in a bad reputation for yourself.

If you sign up – follow through. Zero tolerance for flaky swappers!

Also, do not wait to receive a package before sending yours. That’s not how it works! If everyone waited to receive a package before sending one in return – no one would ever get any packages! If you sign up – follow through!

If you still are unsure of what’s expected of you, watch this video in the group.

**Disclaimer: Planner Squad and Facebook is not responsible for any wrong doings that may happen during a swap. When you sign up – keep in mind that you are taking a risk. We have no way to force anyone to send packages. That means, if someone doesn’t follow through on their end of the deal – you may not end up with a package that month. While that really stinks and we try to avoid that as much as possible, we’re ultimately not responsible if you do not get a gift in return. By signing up you are telling us that you understand there is a possibility that you may not receive anything in return. If you do not receive a package by the end of the month – contact Sarita immediately to report it.

The June 2016 Swap is CLOSED!

Let’s Talk About Blitsy!

If you are a planner girl and haven’t heard of Blitsy, it’s possible you may be living under a rock. Just kidding! But seriously, if you are crafty in any way, you need to know all about this amazing website and how you can bless your planner addictive life because of it. Keep reading.

Let's Talk About Blitsy!

*Disclaimer – This post has been sponsored by Blitsy, which means we received compensation in exchange for writing and sharing our thoughts about their company with you today. Sponsored posts help us not only share some of the awesome resources in the world of planning with our readers, but it helps support Planner Squad so we can continue to bring you awesome content just like this.

I was recently given the opportunity to go on a bit of a spending spree on Blitsy’s website and see how much I could get for my planner. It was so exciting! What would I get? How could I be creative and think outside the box for my planner? How much could I get with the amount I was allotted to spend? I was a girl on a mission – a mission to bring the amazing world of Blitsy to the pages of my planner.

Retail Therapy With Blitsy

I waited until the kids went to bed so I could have pure peace and quiet for my shopping bliss. I pulled up the website and immediately started clicking that “add to cart” button. See, when I online shop I just add everything I think I want to my cart and then when I see the price damage I have a mini heart attack and then start removing things.

I probably shopped for like 2 hours. (Come on now, when you have quiet time and permission to online shop – you squeeze every bit of time out of that opportunity you possibly can – amiright?!) When I finally decided I had probably gone WAY over my budget I braced myself for the panic and clicked on “view cart”.

Surprisingly I was over my budget, but not too much! I was amazed! I wouldn’t have to delete much at all! And then, I saw this:

Let's Talk About Blitsy!

Whaaat?! Blitsy accepts 40% off competitor coupons?! Cha-CHING! That means MORE STUFF! I finally clicked to complete my order, and expected to wait a couple of weeks before I would get my order in the mail.

You see, Blitsy can offer their awesome discounted prices because they act kind of like a middle man between the customer and the company who sells the product. That means, when you place an order Blitsy has to wait to receive the product from the company before they can forward the product on to you. Sometimes that means a bit of a wait in the shipping time; but for the all that you get at at those prices, it’s so worth it.

But I didn’t have to wait long – I got my box in one week! Actually quite a few of my orders lately have been shipping much faster and Amy has said the same about her orders! Yay for faster shipping!

Happiness is Blitsy

My Blitsy Order

Again, I waited for everyone to go to bed so I could get out the goods and start to play without interruptions (aint nobody got time for that). I created for hours! (Seriously – I big time overslept the next day because of my late night planning binge. But its okay, it was so worth it.)

Here’s a list of everything I got (this time.. I now have a Blitsy problem. Thanks Blitsy!):

I was able to do some really cool stuff for my planner. Check it out!

Planner Therapy With My Blitsy Haul

First, I dug out the Gelatos. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on them after watching this video. Seriously – how cool are these?! I used these to draw directly onto my planner pages, and even made some colored boxes for my Happy Planner! Oh, and you can color directly onto your stamps for some cool effects as well (It didn’t turn out great since I was still learning how – but you can see the birthday cake stamped below using the gelatos!). So many possibilities with these!

Let's Talk About Blitsy!

Oh, Check out this dashboard I made for my happy planner with the Gelatos too! I know, my lettering needs some major help. I’m working on it.

Let's talk about Blitsy!

I used the Xyron Sticker Maker to turn the boxes I created and the Bits and Pieces into stickers (helps a lazy girl save on the scrapbook tapes!).

Check out what Amy did with her Xyron machine – She turned ribbon into washi tape! That girl.. she’s a smart one!

I also used a bunch of MAMBI stickers to make this layout. I love how you can really get creative with them. Some I actually cut in half to use in two different places!

Finally, I used my MAMBI Pocket Cards, Page Protectors, and some Carpe Diem Bits and Pieces to make these shakers! I love when I flip through my planners and see these beauties staring back at me!

Happy Planner Printing Hack – How to Print Directly Onto Your Happy Planner Pages (Tutorial!)

Happy Planner users – rejoice! Long gone are the days of printing your decorative elements onto sticker paper. I have discovered a method that allows you to print directly onto your pages, and today I’m going to show you exactly how to do it with this Happy Planner printing hack!

Happy Planner Printing Hack

I love to decorate my Happy Planner. There are so many amazing weekly kits out there but since I do not have a sticker cutting machine (yet) it takes so much time to hand cut each sticker out and place them where I want them.

Then one day I was scrolling through one of my favorite planning facebook groups, and found someone had shared this awesome Happy Planner hack! I was so excited about it that I knew I had to share it with you!

(Thank you so much to Jing Pia Roan for allowing me to share this tutorial here on Planner Squad and for also allowing me to use her happy planner template files as well! You can find Jing online here and here.)

Don’t have a Happy Planner yet? You can get one here through Blitsy!

Happy Planner Printing Hack Tutorial

Step 1: Download Software, Templates, and Design

In order to get started, you will first need to download the FREE Silhouette Studio Basic Edition software. No, you do not have to have a Silhouette to do this tutorial – but you do need the software (or Photoshop).

You will also need to download these free Happy Planner page templates (courtesy of Jing) as well. You can find the free downloads here at our free printables page.

(For this tutorial you can either create your own decorative boxes and elements on your own, or I’ve created some you can use to practice with. These will be included in the download with the templates.)

Step 2: Open Templates into the Silhouette Software

Find where you downloaded your template files and open them in the Silhouette Studio software. To do this click on “File>Open>Select File>OK”. Print this Template from the Silhouette Studio Software prior to decorating on regular computer paper.

(Tip: Make sure your image is not resized to fit the page. It should be printed at its actual, 100% size, which is 8.5×11)

Step 3: Import Decorative Files to Library

Import all of your decorative elements to the Silhouette Studio Library. To do this click on “File>Import>Import to Library>Find File to Import>OK”.

Step 4: Open the “Library” in Silhouette

Click on “File>Library>Library” to open.

HPTutorialSS2

Step 5: Insert Decorative Elements to the Template

Find the decorative elements you wish to add to the template and double click on it. It will then be inserted to the file on top of your template. Click and drag to move the element where you would like it to print on the page. Do this for all of the elements until you have placed them all where you want them.

(Tip: Make sure the template is not selected with a border around it while adding your design. It will cause the design to not add correctly. Click somewhere in the grey area to deselect the template.)

HPTutorialSS5

Step 6: Add a Page From Your Happy Planner to the Printed Template

Use your printed blank template and add a page from your happy planner so that it fits in the box.

(Tip: To make sure all of the lines add up perfectly, hold the page up to a light so you can see where the lines are. Some printers print differently so doing this will make sure you’ve lined everything up properly. If your printed template is not the right size, you will need to reprint and check your printer settings to make sure it wasn’t resized wrong.)

Once you have lined up the pages correctly, use washi tape to keep the paper in place during the printing process.

(Tip: I tape along the top and bottom instead of the sides like in the photo to keep from ripping the punched side of the paper).

IMG_3500

Step 7: Remove the Template

Click on the white page of the template to select only the template. Then press “delete”. Your design elements should be in place still, but the template boxes should disappear.

HPTutorialSS6

Step 8. Print!

Put the template with the Happy Planner page taped to it, into your printer. Press File>Print, and print your design. Your design will print directly onto your happy planner page!

IMG_3502

Voila!

There you have it! A decorated Happy Planner Weekly Spread and it didn’t use a single sheet of sticker paper! Of course now you can add more fun elements to it to spice it up if you’d like, but this Happy Planner printing hack makes the process much easier and saves so much sticker paper!

Did you try this Happy Planner printing hack out for yourself? I’d love to see how it turned out! Share a photo with us on Instagram and tag @PlannerSquad! I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!
