Planner Squad Swap: Sign Up for June 2017

We’ve been having a blast swapping planner goodies and filling our mailboxes with loads of happy for over a year now. What a success this swap has been! I’m happy to announce that it’s officially time to sign up for May!

Love getting happy mail full of planner goodies? Then this swap is for you! Read more posts about planning at www.plannersquad.com

Yep, that’s right, time for another Planner Squad Swap sign up! Please pay attention to everything in this post as you never know when the swap rules will change!

Also, mark these dates in your planners! We’re super strict on our rules, so you don’t want to miss any of this super important info.

Important! Swap Changes!

We’ve made a major change to the monthly swap rules in the past couple of months. From now on, we are charging a small fee to participate.

Why? Because running this swap takes a lot of time and can be very frustrating at times. Especially when members refuse to read the provided information and follow simple rules.

Not only has this fee made it worth the time spent away from my family and other work projects, but it also caused a significant decrease in flaky swappers and rule breakers. Definitely a major swap win!

Please note – this fee does not guarantee you will receive a swap package in return. While we certainly hope that this will deter the flakes, we have absolutely no way to guarantee it. This is still very much a buyer-beware kind of situation.

Sign ups are non-refundable

The fees are in place to help cover the time it takes me to run the swap. If you back out, I will have to spend even more time matching your partner up with someone new. For that reason, all of the swap sign up fees are final and non-refundable under any circumstances.

We do understand that sometimes life happens and problems arise. When this happens we will try to work with you if you have to send your package late, within reason. Communication is key – so please get in touch with your partner asap, and keep the communication strong!

Only members of our Facebook group are eligible to sign-up

Anyone can participate in our swaps, as long as you are a Squadette, aka a member of our Facebook group, and have not been banned due to breaking rules in the past. Want to be a Squadette too? Come join us in our awesome Facebook group!

[Yes – we will check if you are a member or not. You will not receive your partner’s info until you are confirmed as a member of the group. So make sure you join now if you haven’t already!]

There is a spending limit

You are required to spend a minimum of $15 BEFORE shipping. This total used to include shipping, but honestly, you can’t buy too much these days for less than that, and we want these swaps to be quality. That’s why we’ve made this change. If you don’t think you can swing spending $20-$25 after shipping costs, then you shouldn’t sign up for this swap.

If you don’t think you can swing spending $20-$25 after shipping costs, then you shouldn’t be signing up for this swap.

Shipping tips

The best way I’ve found to ship a good amount of oddly shaped products while keeping the cost low is by sending USPS priority in a flat rate box or envelope. This can range from anywhere between $6-$18 in shipping costs depending on how big your package is. This option also includes tracking.

If you want to keep within a specific budget, I recommend picking your flat rate packaging first, then only buy items that you know will fit inside. You can get the priority packaging for free at any post office.

International swappers can keep their costs low by keeping their packages as lightweight as possible, and evenly spread. For example, if you send a package that is just stickers, inserts, dashboard, covers, etc and theses items are approximately the same size and thickness, you can generally send them in a documents envelope.

When packages become uneven and heavier than 1 ounce, they begin to get pricey. For more tips on how to keep international shipping costs low, visit your local post office and ask a worker for their for advice.

Consequences

Once you are signed up and have received your partner info email, you are required to send your swap. If your partner does not receive their tracking number by the end of the day on the 15th of the month, you will be placed on a warning list. This means if you’re ever late again, you will not be eligible to swap in the future.

International swappers are exempt from this rule only because it is extremely expensive in most cases to add the tracking number. That being said, international swappers will be at a higher risk because we will have no way to hold swappers accountable.

If your swap partner does not receive a package from you by the end of the day on the last day of the month, then you will be banned from future swaps, and the Planner Squad Facebook group indefinitely.

You will also be added to a public list alerting others that you did not follow through with your swap as promised. This list will be public so that others will know not to swap with you in the future.

There will be zero tolerance for rule breaking and flaky swapping.

Important Dates

June 3, 2017: This is the signup deadline for the June 2017 swap.

June 4, 2017: An email with your swap partner’s information will be sent to your provided email no later than this date. I will begin sending partner emails immediately and frequently. This will ensure you have plenty of time to shop for your partner and get to the post office. That being said, the quicker you sign up, the sooner you can receive your partner’s information.

If by June 4, 2017 you still have yet to receive your partner email, please check your spam folder or type our email address into your email’s search bar. If you are still unable to locate it, please contact me as soon as possible.

All emails will be sent from plannersquad@gmail.com, so add us to your contacts and/or create a filter so our emails will always go to your inbox!

June 15, 2017: This is the shipping deadline which means all swap packages MUST be shipped (with a tracking number sent to your partner) by the end of the day on June 15th.

Sending a tracking number is mandatory, not optional, so make sure you don’t forget this! Failure to send a tracking number on time may result in being banned from future participation.

Please note: order numbers are NOT the same as tracking numbers! Your package needs to be shipped by the shipping date. If you send your partner an order number that shows an order was placed on the shipping deadline date, you will be considered late and could possibly be banned from future swaps.

June 30, 2017: All participants must have received a package by the end of this date. Anyone who has not received a package by this date should report it to me immediately.

This is crucial to keeping the swap a success and keeping flaky people from signing up and leaving someone else in the dust. Please do not protect flaky swappers!

Planner Squad Swap – Sign up for the October Swap!

Do you like to get planner related goodies in your mail box? If so, the Planner Squad Swap is for you! Each month our Squadettes like to participate in a monthly swap that brings the happiness of planner related goodies straight to your mailbox! Want to know how you can participate in the 2016 October swap? Keep reading for more information!

october-swap-pinterest-copy

How does the Planner Squad Swap work?

Basically, you fill out the form at the bottom of this page to send an email to our Swap leader (the infamous Sarita!) and she will pair you with your swap buddy. Then you and your swap buddy will each shop for and/or create planner related goodies to be packaged up and shipped to your partner! Swap partners are paired together – so whoever you are sending to, will be sending something to you in return.

Who can participate in the swaps?

Our swaps are only open to our awesome Squadettes (US ONLY!!). Want to be a Squadette too? Come join us in our awesome facebook group! [Yes – we will check if you are a member or not! If you’re not, then your email will go to the virtual trash can and you will not be allowed to participate. So make sure you join our fb group!]

What is the monthly limit we should spend on our swap partner?

Your swap package should be valued at $15. That may or may not including shipping, that is up to you. You are more than welcome to spend more on your swap partner if you would like, however that does not guarantee you will get the same amount in return. Do NOT send a package worth less than $15! (again, that can include shipping if you would like).

When is the deadline to sign up?

The signup deadline for the October 2016 swap is September 30th.

Okay, I signed up! When will I be assigned a swap partner?

Emails are generally sent out with your swap partners information around the 1st of every month. Check the facebook group for updates from Sarita, because she will share a list of who she has signed up for the swap. If you did not get an email, check your spam folder. If you still can’t find your email, contact Sarita to let her know.

Make sure to add plannersquadswap@gmail.com to your contacts and/or create a filter so your email will go to your inbox!

Is there a shipping deadline?

Yes. All swap packages MUST be shipped (with a tracking number sent to your partner) by the end of the day on October 15th. That gives everyone about two weeks to shop for their partner and put together a package, which is plenty of time. If for some reason you cannot get to the post office in time to ship your partners package, you MUST let Sarita and your swap partner know. Once you ship your package, please send your buddy the tracking number so they can look out for it!

Other things you should know as a swap participant

If you flake out on your partner and do not send a swap gift – you will be forever banned from the Planner Squad facebook group and no longer be allowed to participate in future swaps. Also, since partners are paired in groups of two – your swapper will know who their flaky swap partner was, which could ultimately end up in a bad reputation for yourself.

If you sign up – follow through. Zero tolerance for flaky swappers!

Also, do not wait to receive a package before sending yours. That’s not how it works! If everyone waited to receive a package before sending one in return – no one would ever get any packages! If you sign up – follow through!

If you still are unsure of what’s expected of you, watch this video in the group.

**Disclaimer: Planner Squad and Facebook is not responsible for any wrong doings that may happen during a swap. When you sign up – keep in mind that you are taking a risk. We have no way to force anyone to send packages. That means, if someone doesn’t follow through on their end of the deal – you may not end up with a package that month. While that really stinks and we try to avoid that as much as possible, we’re ultimately not responsible if you do not get a gift in return. By signing up you are telling us that you understand there is a possibility that you may not receive anything in return. If you do not receive a package by the end of the month – contact Sarita immediately to report it. We will not be chasing down your swap partner for you – that is your responsibility.

Sorry, this swap is now closed. Be on the lookout for the November swap sign ups coming soon!
